Mark your calendars to shop for a dress! If you have a dress you want to donate, we will take those, as well!

This year, we adopted a new science curriculum (Amplify) in 4th grade. We love the investigation work that it pushes our students to do as they work as scientists. This week, they are investigating communication through sound. Students had to listen with eyes closed to find another student within the classroom and used ropes to feel sound vibrations.

Making connections to science and farming and life during 4th grade reading.

Kagan strategies helped these third graders build their vocabulary knowledge today. Ask your 3rd graders to tell you about these words and challenge them to use them around the house all week:
⭐️Agreeable
⭐️Appreciate
⭐️Boomed (not an explosion)
⭐️Descendants
⭐️Population
⭐️Resources
⭐️Transportation
⭐️Vehicle

Math...sometimes they make it harder...Today, when Mrs. Terry was in 5th grade, she noticed students second guessing their answers and making a simple, real-life problem more complicated. When you all are doing math at home, make it real and encourage your children to think mentally about the quickest & easiest way to get to an answer that is reasonable. When she encouraged them to step back and think about their task at hand, they knew it was simple, and they knew they were equipped to solve!

🚨 ATTENTION 🚨
If you signed up your child for Little Dribblers, practice has been moved to Thursday night 1/9/25 from 5:30-6:30 at the high school gym.

The Family Resource Centers in the county and the Preschool/Head Start office are working together to offer Toddler Time to ANY child in Marshall County ages 1-4. They will be doing these monthly at the preschool head start office. Each month, the child will receive a free book and will participate in an activity centered around the book. Snacks will be provided, and parents will have a chance to network and learn more about the various resources in the county! Each month, a community partner will also share information about the resources they provide. The goal is to promote early learning and increase Kindergarten Readiness.

It was a great first day back in 2025! Thank you for sending your children ready to learn. Thank you to our staff for jumping in and setting those high expectations to make this semester successful. There was a lot of great learning happening today.

The Gingerbread Man brought gingerbread cookies to spread the holiday cheer.

This morning, we recognized the our Green Devil Greats. These students were chosen by their teachers for exhibiting Green Devil Greatness during the second nine weeks, and we are so honored to celebrate each one of them. Their pictures will go on our Green Devil Greatness wall later this week.

They thought we were surprising our 3rd & 4th graders with a special song from the 5th grade class, but we really had something special in store for Bill & Sara Minihan to show our appreciation for the way they have loved our Green Devil family through their theater. The Minihans are closing their chapter with the Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers on December 31st, but their impact will never be forgotten. We are thankful that they have allowed our 4th graders to perform on their stage for the last six years and for the many trips to their theatre over the years. But, we are most thankful for the way they love and serve our school, our staff and our students every single day.

Surprise field trip was a success!

MC Little League Photos will be taken for the yearbook on Friday.

We had a great night with Santa at our Cookies & Hot Chocolate event ❤️🎅💚

Mrs. Emily wanted a Christmas shirt as a special reminder of her class this year. One of her first graders designed and drew the art! The students colored in her drawings, and Mrs. Emily helped her with the names. We have one talented little artist!

We are so thankful for our custodial team, how shiny they keep our school and how much they love our students.

When it's the last week before Christmas, the counselors take the kids for a surprise Wellness Wednesday (extended version) and give the teachers a well deserved surprise break.

Polar Express Day is a very special day at Sharpe. It's a day that our older kids provide a precious experience for the littles and a day that we celebrate others over ourselves. All students write a letter about another student that deserves the First Gift of Christmas. We read the chosen letter and gifts are presented. It's one of the highest honors as a Green Devil. 💚❤️💚

Three of our students were recognized this afternoon by the Marshall County Hospital for their spectacular artwork.
