Within the 21st Century after school program, we've been learning American Sign Language (ASL) all month in recognition of Deaf Awareness Month, and our students have loved every opportunity to learn something new!
This afternoon, Amanda Ross joined us during once again to lead a special ASL class. Our students had the opportunity to practice signs, learn more about ASL and discover how communication can connect us in so many different ways. 💚
We are so thankful to Amanda for sharing her time, knowledge and passion with our students! What a meaningful way to continue growing, learning and becoming more aware of the world around us. 🤟💚

This week, we are celebrating the students who reached 100% positivity on ClassDojo AND were chosen from the spinning wheel! 🎉👏
That may sound simple, but we want to recognize just how hard it is to maintain 100% positive behavior. It takes consistent effort, good choices, self-control and a commitment to doing the right thing—even when it isn’t always easy.
One area we have been working especially hard on this year is RESPECT. Respect for teachers and staff. Respect for classmates. Respect for our school. Respect for ourselves.
We are so proud of the students who are showing us what that looks like every day! 💚
And families, we need you! The conversations we have at school are even more powerful when they continue at home. Please talk with your child about what respect looks like, sounds like and feels like. Ask them about the respectful choices they made during the day—and encourage them to keep growing in this area.
When school and home work together, our students thrive. 🌱

Brainstorming, idea writing, rough drafting, using a thesaurus and working with peers in third grade - this work is leading our students closer and closer to a published personal narrative. This writing enrichment is happening each morning during our WIN time.
Love seeing students tap out letter sounds on assessment days 💚
We don’t use devices very often for daily learning in third grade, but we are learning how to use them for assessments when needed. Mrs. Sarah and Mr. Carson did a great job modeling how to take their upcoming Wonders assessment.
Since KSA testing is completed on the computer, we want to start early helping our students become comfortable with online testing formats, navigating questions, using digital tools and submitting their answers.
It’s not about spending more time on devices—it’s about making sure our students feel comfortable, confident and prepared when it matters most! 💚
Practice today = confidence tomorrow!
