This shared position is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact in two wonderful school communities while fostering a love of literacy, supporting instruction and helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s world.
The ideal candidate will:

As we celebrate Mrs. Shelby Oakley stepping into a new role as Assistant Principal at the high school, we are filled with both excitement and gratitude. While we know she is going to do incredible things, there is no doubt that she will be deeply missed at Sharpe Elementary.
Mrs. Oakley has been a tremendous advocate for students, families and staff. Her impact has reached far beyond the classroom through the relationships she has built, the support she has provided and the love and dedication she has shown to our students each and every day.

A few of our 5th graders led PE class last week for kindergarten.
These students got to help our Cafeteria staff for the day thanks for the PTO Silent Auction. They LOVED their day!
Last week, we had the honor of presenting the Abbye Swoope Spirit Award to a student who truly represents the heart of Sharpe Elementary as a second grader.
This award recognizes a student who leads with kindness, encourages others, shows school spirit and makes our school a brighter place each day. We are so proud to celebrate a student who reflects the love, positivity and joy that Abbye Swoope shared with everyone around her.
Congratulations to this year’s recipient - Maggie Gibbs! Maggie's Green Devil spirit shines bright, and we know she will continue to make a difference wherever she goes. 💚
Our 5th graders had the BEST trip to Mammoth Cave and enjoyed lunch at Cracker Barrel. These students are such amazing kids, and we will miss them next year!
Our 2nd graders had a special visitor from Guatemala who taught them how to make tortillas from scratch! 🌎🫓 What a fun and meaningful hands-on learning experience in our final days of school.
Thanks to Crystal Thorning, Family Resource Coordinator, we had a successful Career Day in 3rd-5th grades.
K-3 Field Day was so much fun!! Mr. Lamb planned the best afternoon!!
NMMS Volleyball will end at 4:30 today.
Reminder: Send in your child's waiver for Vertical Jump! We need them by 8AM on Monday morning. If you have jump socks, please send those with your child.
Tomorrow, we will enjoy Field Day with our K-3 students. This means that our gate will DEFINITELY be closed until 2:30. Please do not line up in the road waiting for the gate to open.
